A strong 5 stars!I came here with my girlfriend during our last stay in Vegas. We arrived rather late, around 1-2am, we were sited promptly and were waiting for the waitress to place our order. It took about 7-8 minutes but apparently it was too long for their standards as the manager offered us an appetizer and dessert on the house (!) We were already very positively surprised. The appetizer was outstanding, delicious and perfect.I don`t remember the exact names of the rolls that we got but everything was fresh and delicious. The drinks were done properly too, the berry iced tea was one of the best I`ve ever tried and it was non-alcoholic!Perfect service, perfect food. So sad we don`t get that here in Inland Empire, CA :/ My only complain would be the music, it was a tad bit too loud, especially for very late night, but it wasn`t very disturbing. We will definitely be back next time!
Think about this for a second! As your mind begins to tell your body that it`s getting the urge to devour the next piece of food that is put in it`s face, don`t let down your soul and splurge at the fast food joint of choice. You are in Las Vegas, take a mental note now, that you are here to do things a little different. That means that you are going to plan ahead this time, make a reservation, get in a meal, that otherwise, you would be unaware of and then, when you are done, you will understand the meaning of being in balance with the Universe! That is what eating at Sushi Samba does for the mind, body and soul. And when you are done with this meal it will give your heart a new found love.
Sushi Samba is what you get when you fuze Japanese Food, with Brazilian Food and Peruvian Food! There is no concept like this in the world, except for the seven other Sushi Samba`s that are around the country, particularly in New York City, Miami, Chicago and don`t forget Las Vegas, which is the one I`m thinking of at this very moment. Mmm!
Making your way to the Palazzo Hotel, attached to the Venetian Hotel, is not a hard feat to accomplish. These hot spots are located in the heart of the strip, on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Spring Mountain. It couldn`t be easier to get to, and for those of you who drive, the Palazzo has one of the best parking garages around. Park in the Northern end of the structure, take the elevator to the casino level and then, take the escalator to the second floor, which is where The Shoppes at the Palazzo are located and then there it is, the one of a kind, mouth watering, thirst quenching...Sushi Samba!
After being greeted by a wonderful staff of beautiful and helpful hostesses, take a look to the right and you will see, as you set your gaze upon the outstanding bar area, that it is populated, once again, with beautiful and helpful bartenders, that are pouring you one of the famous drink specials that Sushi Samba is known for. For instance, you can`t go wrong with their Signature Kumori cocktail. In this you will find Nigori sake, Shochu, Gin, muddled cucumber and a Nori-salt rim. Next, on the drink menu you will find the effervescent Samba Juice doused with raspberry and watermelon infused rum, acai, passion fruit, creme de banana, and guava. This is a treat that you will not want to miss out on. With a vast array of cold Sake, Latin classics and Japanese Chu-Hi`s, you are sure to leave here with a smile on your face that goes around the globe and back again.
The ambiance is energetic, the atmosphere has vibe and the aesthetics are beautiful. Masterpieces are etched on the walls by famous artists of Brazil, videos of these other parts of the world are projected throughout the establishment and the music is spun by a DJ which has a combination of several Brazilian styles and rhythms fuzed with Samba. There is a fantastic sushi bar, great booth seating and even an events room in the back for larger parties and catered events. Whether you are here for work, play or just a romantic weekend getaway, you have found the spot that can and will take you to the next level.
Now that you`ve had a drink, some eye candy, and some good music, it`s time to get to the menu, and extensive it is! Firstly, for `apertivos`, it`s a must to start off with the Otsumami. It`s an assortment of edamame, green bean tempura, and shishito peppers, priced at $16.00. By the way, the dipping sauce for the green bean tempura is unbelievable. Next, Rock Shrimp Tempura! This is made with golden pea shoot, snap pea jullienne, spicy mayo, and black truffle vinaigrette, priced at $18.00. This is an instant classic. The `Seviches & Tiraditos` are also the items on the menu that you won`t want to look over. Getting to the heart of the menu you are going to find the Miso-Marinated Chilean Sea Bass, with roasted organic vegetables and oshinko, priced at $29.00. You`re not going to want me to stop there! Rock Fish a la Plancha, with charred asparagus, grapefruit, tomato caviar, in a toza-su sauce, priced at $28.00, is superb. But wait, there`s more, actually lot`s more, however, this is a dish you can`t pass over. Wagyu Beef, grade A5 at $30.00 oz. There are several different ways you can order this dish but the most popular way is the Ishi Yaki hot stone, which comes with dipping sauces and vegetables. This is a 2 oz minimum. I recommend at least 8-10 oz., it`s that good! One last recomendation, besides the fresh sushi, the Jalepeno Yellow Tail sashimi, and the fantastic oyster bar(I had to get those in there), is the Hamachi Kama. This is the the neck of Hamachi or Young Yellow Tail Amberjack. It is the most fatty and delicious part of the fish, packed with omega-3 fatty acids and loads of vitamin D. Grilled to perfection on a robata grill and served piping hot, this dish is amazing. The dipping sauce is excellent which is called Sushoyu, a smoked soy sauce. The smokey flavor of this sauce is caused by the addition of Dashi, which are Bonito flakes, specifically called Katsuobushi, which is the Japanese name for dried, fermented, and smoked skipjack tuna. An impressive dish to order with any group and also an inexpensive one, priced at only $12!
The food, at any restaurant, in my opinion is only as good as the wait staff that brings it! At Sushi Samba, there is no oversight in this department. Here, the waitstaff actually adds to the overall taste and with that, makes the food even better. It`s my whole theory that with bad service, a bad taste is left in your mouth, with good service, a good taste is left in your mouth, but with great service, the food actually tastes better! This is why having the best management team in place is imperative. From the Executive Chef, who happens to be Herb Wilson, down to the General Manager, who happens to be Michael Durovsik, this place is packed with excellent service and a wonderful and accommodating staff.
You can count on Sushi Samba for complete Harmony!
