"Salon of Beauty," the unassuming sign on top of the storefront-like, unobtrusive Beauty Bar announces, and if you didn't know any better, you might walk right on by. Fortunately you DO know better, which is why you're visiting VegasHotSpots.com in the first place! Just the fourth Beauty Bar to open in the U.S. (New York, San Francisco and Hollywood are the other locations), this is a place short on self-important bouncers, expensive bottle service (waiter, my bottle needs servicing now!) and breathless, velvet-rope crowds. Instead, what you'll find here is an understated, proudly kitschy ambience punctuated by industrial-looking, ‘50s-era hair dryer seats imported from a salon in New Jersey, along with lots of white, gold and green vinyl. Might this be your night to get nailed? Whoa, Nellie. State regulations bar formal manicures in Nevada bars, but you've got to hand it to the folks here for coming up with creative and entertaining "nail demonstrations" (clips, files, etc.). Every Wednesday starting at 10 p.m., there's "beauty school drop out" night,.with drink specials for women. Beauty Bar is open starting at 9 p.m. Saturday-Monday, and 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. Expect the crowd to get younger as the night gets later.
