TOP VEGAS HOT SPOT FOR 2010
Hussong's Cantina
The Shoppes at Mandalay Place (between Mandalay Bay and Luxor)
Opening in Las Vegas in January, this Ensenada, Mexico landmark is the originator of the margarita and a well-known rite of passage for Southern Californians and surfers alike. Now Hussong's Cantina brings its buoyant Baja atmosphere and unusually strong margaritas to Las Vegas. Authentic Baja street fare cuisine and a chance to sing along with a rock 'n' roll Mariachi band will make Hussong's Cantina a must-visit for every kind of crowd. Located 50 miles south of Tijuana, Mexico, the iconic bar opened in 1892. Today, it remains a destination for everyone and is considered the social hub of the Baja 1000 off-road race. The Vegas restaurant savors all the charms of the original, right down to the façade, exterior signage and a replica of the rustic green and red bar. The menu features signature cocktails and an impressive selection of tequila and Mexican beer. Hussong's Cantina will be open from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m., seven days a week.

PREVIOUS TOP HOT SPOT
Z Tejas
9560 W. Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas
There is no sexier beverage to pass through your lips on a blazing hot summer day in Vegas than a perfectly made margarita. It's hard to believe tequila wasn't popular in the U.S. until the 1960s, but thankfully we're making up for lost time. Step a few blocks off the Strip and away from the brain-freeze buckets of margarita slurpees served along the sidewalks. We're talking about a sensual margarita experience here, top-shelf tequilas laced with special ingredients like Chambord, Midori, Blue Curacao, Cointreau, and Grand Marnier. Bring a big thirst and sample their award-winning 'ritas served frozen, on the rocks or straight up with names like "6th Street," "big stick," "paradise," and "hard day." |
