Driving down the Strip for many people who have never been to Vegas before is like entering a giant reality distortion field…on your left is a pyramid and the Sphinx, only they aren’t full-size and the pyramid is glass. If the wind is coming in from the north, the other big surprise you’ll experience is aircraft landing at McCarran Airport right over your head. The facility is located at the south end of the runway and the planes are so low you’ll think you can bounce a high wedge shot off the belly of a 737.
