In Celebration of Golf
Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian
If you’re a golf fanatic and you want to know what heaven will look like for you when you pass on to life’s 19th hole, you must play through to In Celebration of Golf in the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian. In this two-story, 14,000 square foot retail museum to the game, the devout golfer can find: a Hummer golf cart that will do 25 mph ($17,000), a framed display of 33 years of Masters badges ($15,900), flagstick flags from championship courses signed by the event winners including a Pinehurst flag signed by the late Payne Stewart ($4,200), Associated Press historical photos including a black-and-white of Arnold Palmer and Jackie Gleason ($700), and a 25-foot-long, 425-pound classic wooden driver made of bronze ($25,000). If it has to do with golf and you can wear it, eat off of it, read it, swing it, look at it, hit it or ride it…you’ll find it here. There is even a golf antiquities section where you can find rare editions of books, clubs and signed balls. The store is divided into 18 themed sections and the staff keeps the mood going by answering “par for the course” if you dare ask how they are doing.
